Deputy Service Manager (Part-Time, FTC)

Overview

The Scottish Borders Good Neighbours service provides support to older people, enabling them people to build confidence, reconnect and remain independent for longer.

Our volunteers provide one-to-one support, a range of activities and a safe, supportive space for our service users.

We’re currently looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis, working six hours on Tuesdays and six hours on Thursdays.

The Role

As the Deputy Service Manager, you will support the management, development and delivery of our Scottish Borders Good Neighbours service.

Working alongside the Service Manager, you’ll ensure that services are consistent with our mission, service plan and service level agreements, enabling us to successfully achieve our key targets.

Overseeing the day-to-day management of the service, you’ll organise activities, handle cash, deal with referrals, manage resources and promote the service locally, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service.

Your role will also involve:
• Supporting the recruitment, development and line management of volunteers
• Building relationships with key local contacts
• Ensuring compliance with statutory standards, policies and procedures
• Fundraising
• Reporting income and expenditure

Working Hours

This is a permanent, part-time role, working six hours on Tuesdays and six hours on Thursdays.

What you’ll need
• Experience of working within a care environment
• Experience of handling cash
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• IT proficiency
