Summary:Assist with the supervision of pool operation, aquatic programs, special events, and lifeguards at designated aquatic facility. Assists Pool Manager with daily operation. Assist with the opening and closing of the pool. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays. This is a seasonal position and pools may vary.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists Pool Manager in planning, training, and evaluating lifeguardsImplements staff schedules, lifeguard rotation schedule and daily assignments.Monitors activities, provide instructions and prevent accidents in the aquatic’s facilitiesAssist Pool Manager in monitoring all pool programming.Ensures lifeguards observe swimmers, inspect equipment and pool area is properly maintained/cleanedAdminister pump room procedures including chemical readings, balancing and filtrationInspects facility regularly and reports any unsafe conditions/equipment to supervisor immediatelyAssists in front desk operation and transactionsAssists with special recreational activities such as athletic events, instructional programs, special projectsMaintains financial and operating records and reportsEnsures City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followedDrives between designated aquatics facilitiesAdministers first aid or CPR according to prescribed procedures and notify emergency medical personnel when necessaryMonitors, applies safety guidelines and proper rescue techniques to patrons in the aquatic facility.Performs other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalentPrevious experience as a lifeguardPreferred QualificationsExperience as an Assistant ManagerBilingual in English & SpanishCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsAmerican Red Cross LifeguardingAmerican Red Cross First Aid, AED, & CPR for professional rescuersValid driver’s license
