Department The Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems (EPLS) invites applications for a specialized Teaching Faculty I position within the Department’s Counseling and Human Systems program. The faculty member’s contributions will be to the CACREP-accredited clinical mental health counseling program. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with training and professional identification with counselor education. Specifically, we are looking for a clinical faculty with a specialization in clinical mental health counseling with preferred experience in clinical and community public/private settings such as community agencies, private practices, and higher education.

Responsibilities
The position will involve the following: (a) graduate teaching a 4-4-2 load of CACREP core and clinical mental health counseling specialty courses (e.g., foundations of clinical mental health counseling, group counseling, counseling theories, assessment), (b) supervision of counseling students in practicum and internship settings, (c) advising of clinical mental health counseling students, and (d) contributing to evaluation of the CACREP-accredited MS/EdS programs.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (ABDs will not be considered) in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program and meet CACREP core faculty eligibility requirements. Demonstrated ability to work collegially with members of the program and department is essential. Candidates should have an established Counselor Educator identity, demonstrated through involvement in professional associations, and certification/licensure or license eligibility. Candidates knowledgeable about Counselor Education, especially clinical mental health counseling, CACREP-accreditation operating procedures, and familiar with national training issues in counselor education are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:
strong professional identity and commitment to counselor education, especially in clinical mental health counseling,prior teaching and supervision experience, and a commitment to diversity initiatives and training counselors to work with diverse clients.
Other Information
This is a twelve-month, non-tenure earning position at the rank of Teaching Faculty I. A demonstration of teaching effectiveness will be required as part of the interview.
