Emerald Stay is the first prop-tech to manage premium homes in non-urban destinations.

Our team is disrupting the fragmented vacation rental market by building a hospitality brand from the ground up - guests can expect a consistent Emerald Stay experience with reliable tech at every touchpoint, while owners can sit back and digitally monitor how their property is being monetised, as well as pampered, while they are not there.

In April 2021 we received the “Best leisure property management company” award at the global industry event by The Shortyz. Emerald Stay was founded by finance, real estate and hospitality tech professionals, and is backed by influential international investors. We have offices in Geneva and Barcelona and have raised more than €5m from prominent investors in order to back our growth.

We're looking for a Jack or Jill of All Trades with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our team. In a nutshell, you will be a key person for our Costa Brava market. This role will report to our Destination Manager, Costa Brava. Please note that there is room for growth in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following.

Guest Relationship Management:
• Coordination of specific preparation needs for the upcoming stays, based on our Property Management System: VIP treatment, birthday cake, etc.
• Visiting guests and offering them a tailored service.
• Upsell and coordination of extra services for guests: private transfers, massages, at-home chefs, etc.
• Promoting cultural activities of the region, preferably genuine and off-the-beaten-path recommendations.
• Intervention in case of guest emergency: exceptional inability to access the property for example.

Business Development:
• Support the Destination Manager in the representation of the brand of Emerald Stay in Costa Brava and the development of new partnerships with local businesses.
• Support the Destination Manager in the generation of new property leads directly (with owners) and indirectly (via real estate agencies for example): with the support of our centralized business development team, conversion of leads into signed properties.
• Assisting with the integration of the new signed properties in the Emerald Stay portfolio following our thorough property onboarding process, including an inventory creation, the coordination of a photoshoot, and much more.

Quality and Operations Management:
• Inspections of properties prior to check-ins and after check-outs.
• Property cleaning coordination with an external housekeeping company or freelance cleaners ; continuous training of the cleaners to meet our demanding standards.
• Property management coordination with our partner company: pool cleaning, gardening, maintenance interventions, etc. Monitoring and coordination of all short and longer term maintenance work.
• Recommendations on the optimization of operational processes.

Depending on the seasonality as well as your bandwidth, skills and interest, you may be involved with other aspects of our operations.

KEY INFORMATION ON THE POSITION
• Employment from April/May 2023 until October 2023.
• Full-time seasonal contract which could ultimately turn into an indefinite contract based on performance and growth potential.
• Driver's license and personal vehicle required (mileage allowance will be paid).
• Competitive salary based on experience with bonus on performance.
• Work days and work hours may vary including on the weekends, we work in hospitality.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who will thrive in a dynamically changing environment.

The must-haves:
• You are based in Costa Brava (preferrably Baix Empordà).
• You are an entrepreneur at heart: you are not afraid of the unknown and you strive when things are challenging and require creative thinking as well as flexibility: you have a can-do attitude and are not afraid to take ownership.
• You have at least 3 years of work experience, with a minimum of 1 year managing hospitality operations at a premium short-term rentals company or at a 4* or 5* hotel.
• You love interacting with guests and all types of partners and can naturally establish great relationships with people; your interpersonal and team collaboration skills are excellent.
• You have strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• You are comfortable speaking with HNWI (High Net Worth Individuals).
• You are good at managing stress and do not get easily overwhelmed.
• You are detail-oriented, open-minded and positive.
• You can multitask and work in an independent way.
• You speak and write English and Spanish perfectly.

The nice-to-haves:
• You have experience working at a fast-growing company and understand that your responsibilities will evolve quickly as the company grows.
• You have a strong knowledge of Costa Brava and possibly an existing network there.
• You have a degree in hospitality management.
• You have worked with Mews before, our amazing Property Management System.
• You are passionate about hospitality and innovation in the industry.
• You speak French and/or German.
