Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Safely operate industrial motorized equipment, specifically electric powered fork truck in an enclosed and tight work environment.
• Follow all established safety policies and procedures.
• Supply and stage correct material for extruder blenders according to production schedule, job sheets, and oral instructions.
• Removal of empty gaylords from extruder blenders and transports them to recycling/disposal area.
• Assist with the wrapping and staging of completed pallets ready for the Shipping department as well as auditing for accuracy.
• Removal and documentation of scrap material during and at the end of the shift.
• Responsible for house cleaning and maintaining the production completed goods storage area and the raw material staging areas in the warehouse and usage areas.
• Run machines as a mold operator to give breaks, cover personnel shortages, and as otherwise needed.
• Other jobs as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Fork truck experience-preferred.
• Good understanding of safe practices
• Good organization and housekeeping skills
• Ability to proficiently and safely use fork truck to transport raw and finished product throughout the production facility.
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, carry, and manipulate various items.
• Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
• Frequently required to stand and walk.
Schedule:
• 12 Hour shifts 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am
Salary: $16.00-$20.00 an hour depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
