Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op
Department: Brava Mfg Reports to: TBD
FLSA Status: Hourly
Job Summary: Brava is looking for qualified candidates to work at our Washington, IA manufacturing facility. We are accepting applications from candidates who can commit 40 hours per week and who are in a manufacturing/engineer course of study. The ideal candidate will be entering their junior or senior year of school. This position will actively participate in projects related to manufacturing process control and process improvement.
Qualities & Responsibilities:
• Self-starter with a good attitude, abides by all Brava’s Safety & Quality policies and procedures
• Provide support for key company initiatives, such as lean implementation, downtime elimination, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
• Work with subject matter experts to measure current process performance, analyze results, develop impr ovement ideas, and run experiments or trials to improve results.
• Potentially be involved with new process implementation, involving developing procedures, completing problem analysis, job safety analysis, etc.
• Work with engineering and shop floor team to identify and design fixtures to improve manufacturability.
• Interface with Engineers to help troubleshoot problems inherent with production and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Examine technical drawings and schematics to verify the completeness and accuracy of data.
• Possibly deal with vendors or others outside of the organization.
• Possibly be involved with the evaluation of capital investments and assist in the preparation of cost justifications.

Education and Experience:
• Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field
• Completion of at least 3 semesters of coursework
• Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
• Ability to work independently, learn new tasks/handle multiple tasks, solve problems, meet deadlines, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• 3D Modeling Experience, preferably Autodesk Inventor
Requirements:
• Must be able to reach, stretch, bend, kneel, and during daily routine, with the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift, push and pull objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
Job Types: Full-time, Internship
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
