Description / Scope / Mission
The System Administrator is responsible for supporting the stable operation of the organization’s network and server infrastructure including effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure in a multi-site, enterprise, business environment. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies and objectives. He/she is a member of a regional level 2 server and infrastructure support group that is part of an international group led by IT VP Security and Operations located in Longueuil (QC, Canada).
Key Responsibilities/
Accountabilities
Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate networks and servers.Proactively monitor and manage all infrastructure systems, including Networking, Servers, Storage, Backups, Virtualization, O365, etc. Create and maintain documentation of existing and future Network infrastructure.Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-domain Windows Server environments (2003 to 2019). Resolves escalated issues from the Help Desks or level 1 support. Document, track, and monitor changes to ensure proper resolution. Provide on-call and\or after hours support as needed (best effort).Performs other related duties as assigned or described by company policy. Occasional travel to the different sites
Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience
Degree in the field of Computer
Science or other related field, and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience.Preferred certifications include:Microsoft CertificationsNetworking CertificationsCompTIA A+ CertificationCompTIA Security+ (or otherInformation Security Training)Proven experience in networking, routing & routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP), switching, VLANS, wireless access point configuration, DMZ and RADIUS authentication.Minimum 5 years of related experience as a System or Network Administrator.Minimum 5 years of experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired Minimum 5 years of experience with Windows Server technologies (2003 to 2019).Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP client/server communication that use these protocols: DNS, SMTP, HTTP, SMB, CIFS, Routing.Strong technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
