Your Role
You’ll lead our alternative assets business and take on the role of Chief Investment Officer for the alternative investment funds we make available to our members
Strategize which funds/deals to source, and help source them to construct portfolios made up of multiple PE/HF/VC/PC/RE funds
Develop short- and long-term investment plans and determine which investments are most appropriate for specific cohorts of Arta members
Lead investment product development activities including legal, due diligence, fund administration, investment management, investor relations, marketing, sales, and other activities – either via partnerships or in-house
Partner with our product/engineering teams on product roadmap and pipeline
Report to President, Felix Lin
Responsibilities
Lead the investment strategy within the company.
Establish effective and well-organized investment processes.
Review and monitor performance of investment managers.
Draft topical research papers, develop marketing and educational materials, research new asset classes.
Write clear and well-informed fund selection recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
Organize regular investment reports and reviews, including quantitative and qualitative portfolio studies.
Attend annual meetings, review quarterly financial statements, and remain up-to-date with any important valuation or policy changes.
Perform regular administration duties of all investment files.
Manage and maintain relationships with fund managers and key members.
Who You Are
15+ years of experience in asset allocation, sourcing/constructing portfolios made up of multiple funds
Currently manage (or have managed within the last few years) $500m+ focused on private investment funds at a family office, multi-family office, endowment, sovereign wealth fund, or fund of funds.
Possess a sound understanding of investment policies and guidelines
Strong network within the private equity, real estate, and/or credit communities
Familiarity with general legal and regulatory framework in the US
Strong experience leading, supervising and working with investment professionals
CFA and/or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Qualification
Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Degree in finance or a relevant field from an accredited institution
Based in the Bay area or New York

Arta's Compensation Philosophy
We determine your level based on factors including your interview performance, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our offers are based on salary bands that are updated periodically using market benchmarks and consider geographic location as well (for example, higher cost regions like San Francisco or New York). If you are presented with an offer, we will review the base salary, benefits, number of options, notional option value and strike price. We would like to know if you accept our offer within 7 days.
Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
IC I: $110,000-$180,000
IC II: $160,000-$230,000
IC III: $180,000-$300,000
