Your duties will involve providing professional knowledge to the department and participating in a study of planned projects in the City that include Landscape Plans and Irrigation Plans and specifications. You'll be responsible for site inspections and construction administration to make sure everything is built according to city codes. As well as drafting and researching landscape code revisions, this job will collaborate with both internal and external departments to provide design solutions.

Qualifications:
• Identify limits and possibilities for growth by conducting and recording field research.
• Using a collaborative approach, engineers, architects, and agency workers work together to develop a design that is consistent with regulatory requirements, provides value to the client's project, is sustainable, and is resistant to the effects of time and weather.
• Working in close collaboration with department agencies, board offices, community organizations, and/or other stakeholders, the Community Engagement Coordinator organizes and conducts community engagement sessions, public meetings, and/or internal meetings for park initiatives.
• Inspect hillside overlay properties for conformance with disturbance limit fence, landscape retention or removal and onsite grading and preservation zones during site inspections
• When the department needs help with construction administration and inspections as well as field investigations to get information for design or facilities work, the landscape architect helps. They also help with ADA compliance assessments and facility/site condition evaluation
• As part of their duties, managers must monitor and organize the work of consultants, create performance criteria and budget estimates, and conduct progress payment evaluations.
• Together with planning personnel and other divisions, verify that the final landscaping and irrigation designs are compliant with zoning code standards throughout the planning and review process.
• Resolves design issues at County Park facilities in response to requests, comments, complaints, and ideas from the public and other stakeholders.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and LandFX skills are necessary, as well as the ability and initiative to come up with creative and visually appealing design ideas.
• Perform on-site inspections of the landscape to verify that the approved final landscape and irrigation plans are being followed prior to the issue of the Certificate of Occupancy or the release of financial guarantee money.

Skills:
• Supervises the production of contract plans, specifications and estimates, bid packages and other contract documents as required for assigned construction projects.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape architecture; drafting techniques and practices; planting and building materials, as well as their proper use in the design and execution of landscape projects
• The concepts of modern landscape architecture technology, design, and building processes, as well as certain components of engineering principles as they apply to landscape architecture.
• A bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field is necessary. One year of public agency experience is preferred but not needed. Work experience may be used in place of a four-year degree.
• This job requires multitasking and the ability to self-manage schedules depending on project management needs or milestones
