LCRA is looking for a Telecom Technician to join our team. As a part of LCRA’s Telecom team, you will be working with routed networks that traverse DWDM, fiber optic, and microwave radio transport systems. You will have the opportunity to travel across Central Texas to various work sites (with travel accommodations provided).You will work with a skilled team and receive valuable training through on-the-job experiences as well as formal training curriculum. You will be trusted to:
• Responsible for installation of advanced Fiber optic networks
• Responsible for installation of advanced Microwave networks
• Responsible for installation of Cutting edge Routed networks including protocols-MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and ISIS.
You qualify with:
• Four or more years of experience in electronics and/or telecommunications maintenance. A degree(s) in electronics technology, telecommunications technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
• Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
• Degree(s) in electronics technology, telecommunications technology, computer science or relevant field
• Networking Certification in Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Juniper or equivalent such as CCNA or NRS1
• Experience in microwave, SONET, DWDM, MPLS, and digital trunked radio
