The EHS Rep will be responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health and Safety policies, programs, and projects within Hendrickson Brake & Wheel End (BWE) at the Berea, KY and Chattanooga, TN locations. The EHS Rep will be based at the Berea facility with 25% travel to Chattanooga.
Essential Functions
• Manage Environmental, Health and Safety policies, programs, and projects at Berea.
• Provide support and assistance for Environmental, Health and Safety policies, programs, and projects at Chattanooga.
• Work with BWE facility and Division Human Resources/Operations to provide EHS direction and assistance.
• Support the efforts to pursue/maintain partnership with OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).
• Work with employee safety teams to achieve the goal of Vision Zero.
• Facilitate incident investigation process
• Manage Industrial Hygiene program.
• Conduct EHS Training including compliance and EHS orientation.
• Conduct and manage safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Provide regular reporting of performance, both leading and lagging indicators.
• Assist in Workers Compensation case management as required.
• Lead ISO 14001 and environmental compliance programs/practices at both locations.
• All other duties as assigned.
• 2-3 years’ experience with an emphasis on health and safety implementation in a manufacturing environment. Some environmental compliance experience is desired.
• Demonstrated experience in upgrading health and safety programs and process improvement.
• Ability to travel to Chattanooga and other company locations on an as-needed basis (25%).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills, Windows, Word, Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others
• Effective oral and written skills mandatory
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills required
• Self-motivated / Self-Starter
• Frequent sitting, work at computer or out on the plant floor for extended periods of time.
