Partners for Rural Impact (PRI) is a newly formed nonprofit organization that provides deep community support for youth and their families and works to ensure success for young people from cradle to career. The Associate Director of Student Voice and Well-Being provides technical assistance, strategic thought-partnering, vision, and the implementation of student voice teams for the betterment of the school and educational environment. This position is responsible for coaching and supporting grant Project Directors and partners in building robust initiatives in well-being and student voice, recognizing the importance of the whole-child approach to student success. The Associate Director will implement continuous improvement models to ensure high-quality initiatives; will ensure that risk management is implemented with fidelity and compliant with all PRI and funder requirements; and will collaborate with PRI Integrated Strategies Leadership Team to secure funding for the sustainment and development of programs within his/her portfolio. This position leads and operates with the goal that All Rural Students Succeed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, wellness, and student voice communities of practice and other relevant communities of practice for the development of partners and staff
• Develop and communicate a library of best practices for creating a safe, healthy environment for young people to internal and external partners
• Maintain an expert level of knowledge of evidence-based practices in student wellness, student voice, and the whole-child approach to student development and success, ensuring that students are empowered, challenged, supported, engaged, safe, and healthy
• Build capacities of partners to create and implement student voice and student leadership teams
• Coach assigned Project Directors and others to ensure programmatic and operational performance measures are established and met in the areas of student well-being and student voice
• Monitor all programs and grants to ensure that all are compliant with all Partners for Rural Impact and funder requirements
• Partner with the Integrated Strategies Leadership Team to secure funding to sustain and/or develop programs and identify gaps in resources and opportunities for program expansion
• Launch, implement, monitor, and evaluate grants, program goals, strategies, and strands to support continuous improvement
• Implement and model Results Count and Results Based Facilitation processes and systems to achieve Results and reinforce a data-informed culture

Position Location and Schedule

The Associate Director's work will be located primarily in Appalachia Kentucky, but may be considered for hybrid work with local, state, and sometimes national travel required.

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with in-office and/or hybrid work a possibility. Because of the nature of the responsibility to schools, partners, funders, and to the service region, individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening and/or weekend hours.

Minimum Requirements

Education required to ensure success in this position:

Master's degree in healthcare, social work, counseling, communications, child development, education or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education

Experience required to ensure success in this position:

Five years' experience in federal or state grants management

Five years' experience in supervision and personnel management

Demonstrated knowledge and leadership in the area(s) of health, wellness and social-emotional learning needs of children and young adults

Demonstrated knowledge and leadership of student voice & student leadership and their importance in the social-emotional well-being of students and young adults

Demonstrated knowledge of the whole-child approach of creating environments that are supportive, engaging, safe, healthy, challenging, and empowering to help students thrive

Special skills, knowledge and abilities:

Proficiency in data collection, analysis and planning

Capacity to multi-task and achieve deadlines

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Ability to implement training modules both virtually and in-person

Experience with the financial management of grant funds

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including data processing and financial spreadsheets

A commitment to a growth mindset and an inclusive model of building school culture and the whole-child approach

A commitment to students from diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds

License, certification, or registration necessary:
• Valid driver’s license
• Successfully complete pre-employment background check

Physical requirements:
• Ability to work in a high energy office
• Ability to accurately communicate and exchange information with partners, stakeholders, and/or meeting participants
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to travel independently by car and plane regionally and nationally
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Ability to operate motor vehicle

Environmental conditions:
• Work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
• Work primarily in an office setting
• Periodic travel to meetings and/or partner program sites
