Overview
KAMA Co-operative Society located in Chikwawa District, is a Co-operative incorporated under the Co-operative Societies Act. (CAP.47:02). KAMA Cooperative with a matching grant from Agriculture Commercialization (AGCOM) is implementing a 1,069ha feedstock irrigation project in productive alliance with PressCane Limited. In order to manage this project, the Co-operative Society requires to recruit a management team to support the implementation of the Project.
In order to build its capabilities, the Cooperative has the following vacancies:
POSITION: FARM MANAGER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
Planning cane production activities by determining required output and time frame.
Controlling performance standards for Field
Supervisors, Capitaos and general. workers by setting performance targets and conducting performance reviews.
Training Field Supervisors, Capitaos and staff workers.
Ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained at all times
Ensuring that local and international standards for protecting the environment are maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate must have:
Bachelor of Science Degree or any related agricultural field.
Senior Certificate in Sugarcane from SASRI.
A minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar or related field.
Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills and experience in and dealing with smallholder farmers.
