Job Description

Within this framework, Wadata is implementing an integrated approach based on the specific needs of extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households in the communes of Guidiguir, Damagaram Takaya, Guidimouni, and Mazamni in the Zinder region, through the following components:

• Enhanced collective action to address food, nutrition, and water security shocks and stresses (Purpose 1).

• Strengthened capacity, assets and means to improve access to adequate and diverse food at all times (Purpose 2.

• Improved nutrition, health, hygiene, and sanitation for pregnant and lactating women, adolescents, children under five, and their families (Purpose 3).

Qualifications

The consultant sought for this contract should have the following main assets:

• Experience in designing/implementing USAID funded projects required, preferably with Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance/Food For Peace (BHA/FFP) Resilience Food Security Activities.

• Strong capacity to listen to team members and external partners and to identify challenges and solutions in a participatory manner.

• Implementation context knowledge in the Sahel and ability to travel and stay for 3 to 4 weeks in Niger between the 15th February and 10th March 2023, and return to Niger later in April, if needed.

• Immediate availability.

• Have at least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master's degree, in a field related to international development, agriculture, food security, health, nutrition, planning, or sustainability.

• Have at least 8 years of experience in project design and/or reformulation, preferably including USAID/BHA/FFP projects.

• Proven command of written/spoken English and fluent French, additional local language capacity preferred.
