The Superintendent will be responsible for successfully executing the construction of project(s) from the beginning through closeout.
Specifics of the role
• Build client and subcontractor relationships.
• Communicate effectively with client, Plateau’s other team members and subcontractors, and local jurisdictions. Communication may extend to the client’s design team.
• Accept full responsibility for the field execution of a project.
• Accept full responsibility for the safety of crews and subcontractors on the project.
• Mentor and develop your construction team.
What we expect
• Superintendent will coordinate the construction of the work with the client’s construction team, client’s other subcontractors, our subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Order and schedule material deliveries and quantities. Project Manager will provide a list of the suppliers and subs for each project.
• Schedule subcontractors as needed to maintain an efficient progression of site construction.
• Monitor the delivery of all needed materials for the project(s), ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitor deviations in project scope and communicate with the Project Manager.
• Will supervise foreman and all crews onsite, including subcontractor and its crews.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure construction is in compliance with the construction documents.
• Clearly communicate with Project Management team, client, and subcontractors.
• Mentor Foreman with the goal of raising them to the Superintendent level by improving their safety knowledge, construction knowledge and communication.
• Find and develop crews and Foremen.
• Monitor crews’ hours and manage the appropriate times to be on the project or clocked out.
Items to know
• Travel is required for this position due the nature of our work. Our projects are typically based in the Southeast, and we have recently expanded our footprint in other East Coast areas. Travel in the footprint of Mississippi to Virginia, including Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky will be required.

• Employees are responsible for managing their own projects and meeting time expectations.
• Projects are fast paced.
• 5 to 15 years of experience managing sitework construction projects as a Superintendent.
• Have a strong understanding of safety rules and regulations and enforce them.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
• Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and traverse slopes.
• GASWCC Level 1A Blue Card
• OSHA 30
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
