How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
Delta’s Fuel team is responsible for lowering Delta’s fuel cost through maximizing profitability of our refinery. This position will have an opportunity to learn and contribute with functions across the Crude and Feedstocks’ Team in the Supply and Trading organization including crude procurement and logistics, feedstock and marine logistics. You will also work with the various departments within the Supply and Trading team to understand the logistics and market impact of our business decisions.
This role will be responsible for scheduling feedstocks and operational oversite of the Monroe Energy time charter fleet, Contract of Affreightment movements and spot charters.
• Develop new and creative approaches to improve our crude and feedstock costs.
• Gain full understanding of our supply logistics and have a thorough understanding of how the refinery operates and where constraints may exist.
• Liaise with internal and external schedulers to ensure on time delivery of crude and feedstocks to Trainer refinery.
• Handle communications between Monroe and the time charter fleet, coordinating post fixture operations for $55MM in time charter hire exposure.
What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
• Experience in Contract Negotiations, Energy Management, Supply Logistics, Finance or other highly analytical experience.

• Job availability is 24/7 due to deadlines, job responsibilities, interaction and involvement with the Monroe organization.
• Travel will be required in this role (up to 25%).
• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)
• Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Engineering or Oil and Gas related degree.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills while being able to build and maintain commercial relationships.
• Ability to work in a trading desk environment with exposure to shifting priorities, tight deadlines and expectations that multiple projects can be managed concurrently.
• High level of initiative in managing your workload, including identifying critical business issues for analysis, structuring projects and implementing change.
• Critical thinking skills with a proven ability to develop creative solutions to a variety of issues that may arise.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Maritime and rail logistics experience is a plus
