Delta's brand is based on best-in-class operational performance, the foundation of which is providing safe and reliable aircraft for our customers' travel experience. The role of Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) is to support this mission by providing strategic insights by first understanding business processes and then leveraging data and analytics to drive continuous improvement efforts. The Manager will lead their teams to work closely with business and front-line operational leaders to solve business challenges. This role specifically supports the Global Cleanliness business unit and Airport Customer Service Business Partners (vendors in the airport).
We are looking for data curious candidates who enjoy thoughtful debates about how strategy, business process improvement, and analytics impact the way Delta reliably serves its customers. The successful candidate will espouse Delta's core values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Perseverance, and Servant Leadership. Additionally, they will exhibit strategic vision, thoughtful employee engagement, strong analytical/process skills, a bias for action, and the ability to partner with senior operational leaders to influence strategy, improve the Delta customer experience, improve operational reliability, and drive results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 4-5 analysts tasked with supporting two different business units that manage the work of vendors that do not work directly for Delta Air Lines
- Develop team members and create positive, dynamic, and collaborative work environment
- Build relationships with both divisional leaders and frontline employees to generate and implement system-oriented solutions
- Establish expectations and priorities based on value, including process and customer impact
- Define and align data from various vendor partners. Influence processes and behavior of vendor partners through metric accountability and insights
- Partner with internal data structuring teams to establish accurate and accessible metrics
- Develop and improve automated reports and analyses to support senior divisional leaders and business units
- Create insightful executive-level and frontline dashboards using data visualization tools
- Build strong business relationships to coordinate cross-divisional projects and to improve analytical support and tools
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
• High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalency and 5 years work experience in Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or related analytical field required
• Advanced level knowledge of SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other statistical programing languages
• Advanced level ability to manipulate data using programing language and to create complex queries
• Must have strong business acumen, statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and able to manage complex processes with cross-functional teams
• Ability to thoughtfully engage and develop team members required
• Must possess excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills, with the ability to produce concise, relevant, strategically-driven documents and presentations for senior leaders
• Must be a strong team player, detail oriented, and perform well under pressure
• Must convey a professional image with ability to lead, manage, and communicate to all levels within the organization, including Executive Leadership
• Ability to influence without authority and work in a matrix environment required • Ability to effectively manage and deliver on many projects at once within strict deadlines is required
• Must be able to develop a vision, strategy, and objectives for a team and motivate and lead team to accomplish objectives
• Experience with MS Office is required
