Vehicle Servicing Mechanic (Transportation/PC#251220)
Position Summary: Performs mechanical servicing connected with the repair and general maintenance of automotive and other power equipment. Diagnoses problems and makes repairs, replaces worn parts, for engines, ignition and electrical, fuel-air-exhaust, cooling, power train, steering and braking, and passenger safety systems

Employee Type: Full Time
Salary: $23.55 - $31.15 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience.
Location: Transportation Department
Hours: 8 hours/day; 5 days/week
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Life Insurance available for employees who work 4+ hours per day (Full district contribution for 6+ hours/day; 50% contribution for 4-5.99 hours/day).
Experience/Education
The position typically requires a high school diploma and 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in the servicing and repair of vehicles. Alternatively, the position may require a post-secondary certificate/degree in an automotive technology or one or more ASE certificates.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding And/or Testing Required
A valid driver’s license and a Class B license within the probationary period. Requires ability to obtain a forklift certificate.
