How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Reduce flight operations risk through administration of Delta's pilot safety reporting systems (ASAP and ASR). Assist with administration of pilot ASAP Event Review Committee (ERC) meetings. Must have leadership skills to manage ERC members and reach consensus on every ASAP report while maintaining program integrity. Will maintain Flight Safety Reporting database and associated records. In addition, the Specialist will be responsible for the analysis of ASAP and related Flight Safety data. This position requires close coordination with representatives from the Flight Safety FOQA, Investigations, SMS, and Data and Decision Science areas; a willingness to work in a team environment and support of other areas as needed is required. Must practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Primary Functions
• Oversee the daily handling of voluntary pilot safety reports submitted through the ASAP and ASR programs
• Serve as an alternate ERC facilitator
• Contribute to analysis of trends, investigations, and pilot Event Review Committee (ERC) meetings using best practices as identified by Flight Safety and applicable Human Factors science.
• Contribute to the identification, development, analysis, and enhancement of safety metrics.
• Serve as a liaison to organizational entities and industry groups including, but not limited to:
• Flight Training and Flight Operations
• Safety Management System meetings
• ATSAP
• ASIAS
• Industry safety conferences
• Promote program visibility by communicating, educating, and building program awareness via presentations that explain the ASAP concept, vision, mission, and status

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
• Must have a working knowledge of flight operations and flight safety metrics
• Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
• A natural curiosity towards constant improvement
• Must be able to interact and collaborate at all levels within Corporate Safety Security and Compliance, Flight Operations, cross-divisional working groups, and outside entities
• Must have strong analytical experience and ability to provide effective communication of results
• Should have a strong working knowledge of airline operations and FAA voluntary safety programs
• Operational experience (i.e. private pilot certificate, dispatcher certificate, prior flight operations, etc.) preferred
• Background and training in Human Factors preferred
• If transferring Internally, must be performing satisfactorily in current position
• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
• Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
