We are building an elite Salesforce team to support our Sustainable Sourcing and Commercial teams across our regional operations in Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Nasarawa, and Cross River states.

We are seeking candidates with strong sales background and experience in hunting for a new business to support our network of farmers and vendors to join our Marketplace to sell their grains and cash crops seamlessly connecting with profiled processors and manufacturers.

As a Commodity Market Specialist (CMS), you will be an integral part of our Commercial team. You must have strong communication skills and effectively interact with potential vendors. Excellent time management skills so that they can meet targets and respond to queries as efficiently as possible.

Work as part of a competitive team of salespeople to achieve sales objectives and goals and compete to win performance bonuses. Share, learn, collaborate with our national and global team members and manager to develop strategies, improve execution, and generate ideas that drive great team results and success.

A background in cocoa, oil palm, cassava, soy, corn, rice, sesame, and sorghum is required depending on the region you are applying for.

Responsibilities:
• Pitching and onboarding potential vendors
• Visit farm/warehouse/store to onboard and support farmers and vendors
• Make 100+ sales calls, cold calls, and emails daily
• Set up meetings or calls between prospective vendors and the Commercial team
• Report to the Head of Sustainable Sourcing on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
• Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
• Use our CRM and other tools to accurately document tasks and prospect information
• Understanding of sales performance metrics
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to deliver engaging presentations
• Manage Zowasel Crop Centres and Trustees to drive sales
• Pitch, onboard, manage new and existing vendors
• Drive Trustees to onboard farmers across host and neighboring communities.

Characteristics for success:
• A CMS needs to know how to communicate in order to transmit efficiently all ideas
• Knowing how to charm your vendors is one of the most important characteristics, in the end, you become a representative of the brand
• Know the crops and services of the company: to transmit confidently knowledge about Zowasel's offerings and how they fit in with vendors
• Having sales skills: more than communicating, is creating a need for the customer that Zowasel can fill, and make the prospect understand all the benefits from working with us
• Knowing how to relate: the CMS will need to relate to farmers and the unique challenges faced by vendors.

Background:
• Practical experience with agribusiness strongly preferred
• Grew up on a farm, studied business, trade, or agronomy in college, etc.
• 1-2 years of sales experience in an outbound calling role
