Sign Shop Technician
SIGN FABRICATION
• Sign Fabrication. Contractor shall provide and maintain all necessary equipment to meet the sign requirements identified in this paragraph and those contained in UFC 3-120-01, Air Force Sign Standard. Contractor shall also have the ability to mount signs on their respective surfaces.
• Sign Materials. Signs shall be made of either aluminum, metal, wood or plastic.
• Sign Sizes. The contractor shall be able to print signs between 4 inches x 8 inches to 5 feet x 5 feet. Printer specifications shall be provided to the government for their review and approval to ensure it will meet the requirements of this PWS.
• Sign Quantity. Contractor shall be able to provide lower limit of 5 signs to an upper limit of 50 signs per quarter.
• Sign Colors. Provide colors ranging from blue, green, grey, black, traffic yellow, red background with black or white lettering. Reflective vinyl required for street signs, facility numbers, unit/command informational signs, common information, facility identification, MWR and event posting signs, safety signs, force protection posting.
Job Requirements
• Two years of experience with VersaWorks and Corel Draw Graphics Suite software to include Microsoft Word is sufficient.
• Three years of computer knowledge and three years of sign shop experience required.
• Familiar with basic sign shop standards and requirements which fall under the US Air Force standard (UFC 3-120-01) or other US military branch standard
• Experience with the detail of work of fabricating signs and decals which entails the use of computer-generated and digital graphical layouts and related applications in order to produce suitable sheeting laminates for subsequent application to sign substrates.
• Applies vinyl, reflective media, acrylic sheet, etc. to aluminum, metal, wood, plastic substrates manually or through the roller press.
• Experience with making signs out of either aluminum, metal, wood or plastic.
• Work involves the fabrication of a variety of street signs, facility numbers, unit/command informational signs, common information, facility identification, MWR and event posting signs, safety signs, force protection posting.
• Ability to print signs which vary in size between 4 inches x 8 inches to 5 feet x 5 feet utilizing Roland Soljet Pro4 XR-640 printer.
• Experience with Digital Graphic design preferred
• Must possess experience and knowledge with utilizing various computer and printer automated equipment within the sign shop.
