Provides leadership to plan, create, develop, present, implement, and oversee the school division's efforts to ensure implementation of the Compensatory Education Plan for students with disabilities and Section 504; develops tracking mechanism; organizes divisionwide staff training and parent/guardian and stakeholder outreach; and serves as a liaison between FCPS and federal, state and local organizations as it pertains to compensatory education in collaboration with Division leadership.

Qualifications:
Required
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a master's degree.
• Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible job-specific related experience in special education and/or administration and supervision.
• Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods, and current trends of school administration.
• Knowledge of the procedures and practices of the educational specialties in the special education office.
• Knowledge and skill in the procedures and practices of Title II, Section 504, and IDEA.
• Ability to manage the fiscal, physical, and human resources necessary to carry out the function and programs of the office.
• Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to conduct and present complex administrative studies to senior leadership and other groups.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups, including the School Board.
• Ability to supervise and lead.
• Capacity to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, families, and the community.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
• Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
• Administration and supervision PreK-12 endorsement.
