Are you an experienced Independent Assessor with a strong radiation protection background desiring an opportunity to be part of a legacy? Our Contractor and Quality Assurance team needs a Radiation Protection Independent Assessment professional to conduct performance-based assessments on the implementation of CPCCo’s Radiation Protection Program as required by 10 CFR 835. As a Radiation Protection Independent Assessor, you will apply your experience in implementation of radiation protection programs to help our Contractor and Quality Assurance (CQA) team achieve its goal of supporting the CPCCo mission. Our team is seeking a dynamic individual with a radiation protection background and expertise in conducting program-wide assessments to provide leadership and support in the conduct of the 10 CFR 835 Triennial Assessment activities, as well as other Independent Assessments of Program/Project activities. A day in the life of a Radiation Protection Independent Assessor involves:

• Lead/perform Independent Assessment activities, including required 10 CFR 835 Triennial Assessments, in accordance with CHPRC assessment procedures.

• Reviewing implementing procedures and technical work documents, conducting out-briefs, of assessment results, and writing assessment reports.

• Interface with all levels of management both within CPCCo as well as external stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• US Citizen

• Principal Level Grade 20: BA/BS degree in science, health physics, engineering, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Principal Level Grade 21: BA/BS degree in science, health physics, engineering, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience performing program-wide performance-based assessments and audits.

• Experience in the management and implementation of radiation protection programs as defined by 10 CFR 835.

• 3 years’ DOE radiological experience, 1 year supervisory or management experience, and 1 year experience performing quality verification activities in radiological controls.

• Prior experience in one or more of the following disciplines:

• Quality Assurance

• Certification as a Lead Assessor/Auditor/Team Leader, NQA-1 Assessor or equivalent

• Integrated Safety Management System

• Radiological Control

• Work Control/Maintenance

• Nuclear Facility and Non-Nuclear Facility Operations

Compensation & Benefits (HR Only)

In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

• Principal Level Grade 20: $122,813 - $154,838

• Principal Level Grade 21: $135,188 - $170,463

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
