We are looking for a compassionate CNA to provide assistance in daily living and personal care services in patients homes in accordance with an established care plan.
Responsibilities
• Perform domestic and household tasks
• Transport and accompany patients to doctors office or to hospital
• Administer simple prescribed medications
• Assist with clients personal care activities
• Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc) and report on their condition
• Maintain patients care records and document provided services
• Assist patients with mobility and physical therapies/exercises
• Instruct and counsel patients and families on diet and exercise
• Collect routine specimens
• Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
Education and Licensing:
1. Certified Nurses Aide training.
2. High School graduation or GED preferred but not mandatory. Must be able to read, comprehend, follow directions, and write literate and legible reports.
3. Must be at least 18 years old.
4. Demonstrates to qualified Registered Nurse skilled performance of designated job duties on competency assessment prior to independent assignment in home.
5. Must pass written competency evaluation exam given by a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years experience in home health hospice care. Only after considered competent may visits be made.
Professional Experience:
Hospice, home health, or long-term care experience preferred but not mandatory.
Specialized Knowledge:
1. Current knowledge of Federal and State rules regulating hospice care is desirable but not mandatory.
2. Must demonstrate desire and motivation to educate self upon employment.
3. The ability to work comfortably and in a caring manner with clients.
4. Knowledge of and commitment to Hospice philosophy of palliative care, pain control, and comfort measures rather than cure or rehabilitation.
