Are you passionate about racial equity and removing barriers to natural spaces? Join our Community Engagement team in creating welcoming environments to advance equitable opportunities to access and enjoy Three Rivers and outdoor experiences for communities that are underrepresented in outdoor spaces. We are looking for a culturally competent facilitator to lead the coordination of our bike outreach and engagement initiatives along with our introductory camping programs, all intended to reach communities who are underrepresented in the parks. STARTING SALARY: $52,000-$60,000/annuallyA natural resources-based park system, Three Rivers Park District manages more than 27,000 acres of parks and trails in the Twin Cities area. Click on the benefits tab for more information on our competitive benefits package.Bachelor's degree AND two years of experience working in community outreach, public engagement, cultural competency work, planning and/or conducting educational or recreational programs, youth development, OR any combination of education or experience equivalent to the above. Experience working with individuals and groups with multi-cultural backgrounds in an outdoor setting preferred. Possession of a valid Class D Minnesota driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with multicultural audiences in an outdoors setting
• Basic comfort-level with biking and/or camping for personal enjoyment
• Ability to problem solve and apply critical-thinking skills
• Flexible and willing to adapt to shifting priorities
• Collaborative approach and team player
• Bilingual language skills, especially in Hmong, Somali or Spanish
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Primary Responsibilities:
• Grows efforts to introduce new audiences to camping through coordinating the Group Camping Leader Trainings and camping gear trailer, Camping 101 program, and Camping Kit rental weekends.
• Initiates and coordinates outreach efforts around bikes and trails, utilizing a fleet of bikes to introduce more people to in-park trails and to the regional trail system, including leading Learn to Ride classes and facilitating group rides.
• Plans and conducts programs, activities and projects to increase awareness and connection to Three Rivers Park District of our underrepresented audiences.
• Supports district-wide efforts to grow in cultural competency and engage the broader community in decision-making processes towards more equitable access to the parks and trails.
