Background information

Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF) is a National Non-government organization with over 19 years’ existence and actively intervening in the humanitarian response in the Northeast and other parts of the country since 2013. JDF works in the following thematic areas.

1. Improved response to the humanitarian needs of vulnerable people.

2. Improved gender equality and livelihood support for persons at the community level of young persons, men, and women.

3. Promotion of prevention and treatment in HIV and other health disease burden (Malaria, TB and Diarrhea).

4. Promotion of protection programs for children and youth in Communities that encourages child development and Adolescent empowerment.

5. Promoting good governance and policies

6. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability learning and sharing of information on protection, livelihood support accessible through knowledge and information management.

Jireh Doo Foundation is therefore seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a team lead or project coordinator. Candidates with proven experience in leading Monitoring and evaluation teams are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. The LGA Team lead is responsible for analyzing the situation pertaining to their area and sector of work (in terms of the geopolitical, humanitarian, socio-economic, cultural, legal and protection landscape) by identifying the various entities in operation there, along with the principal issues.

It is therefore his/her responsibility to put forward and develop an operational strategy consistent with people’s needs and using JDF,s standard of operation.

2. Ensure that all activities are properly implemented and monitored.

3. He/she coordinates the actions to be implemented, oversees risk control and is responsible for ensuring the internal reports reach the relevant teams.

4. LGA team lead must liaise with local authorities, civil society in the area where they are working

5. It is also the LGA team lead job to help strengthen relations between JDF, communities of implementation and donor representatives.

6. Supervise and report all JDF’s activity being implemented in the area

7. Prepare the projects work plans, technical and monthly progress reports and any problem in the field and present them to the Programme Manager.

8. Provides general support, guidance, and serves as focal point between the field and the office during project implementation.

9. Ensures that procedures and donor regulations applicable to projects implemented with regards to program, logistics, security, HR, and administration are closely followed.

Qualification and experience

Essential:

1. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

2. Advance computer skills, including the ability to type quickly and to use Microsoft office products, email and internet.

3. Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive issues or projects and use judgements to execute duties and responsibilities.

4. Sensitive of cultural differences and an understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infections subcontractors, and recipients of assistance

5. Fluency in English and Local languages (written & spoken).

6. Ability to travel within Nigeria

7. Knowledge of health and humanitarian program

8. Team player

9. Ability to work under pressure

10.Demonstrate fairness and impartiality.

11.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

12.Strong commitments to gender equality and social justice, including to the aims and objectives of JDF

13.Ability to work under pressure and commitments to meet deadlines

14.Potential and flexibility of attitude to learn and take on new tasks

Preferable

• Female candidates are preferred.

• Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation of projects in the BAY states.

• Candidates from Yobe state with proven experience and understanding of the local languages and context.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
