The Chief Accountant in our office in Dakar will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, general ledger reviews, forecasting and budgeting.
The role
The Specific Responsibilities Include
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies
• Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Coordination with the Company’s enterprise data warehouse which will provide monthly inputs for the financial systems
• Maintain a detailed understanding of assigned business process areas
• Develop and maintain procedures around closing and consolidations
• Identify, document and implement further business and accounting workflows, policies and procedures
• Prepare documentation for External Auditors
• Assist with bank reconciliations and fixed assets
• Participate in and contribute positively to work/team environment
The Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Excel
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with different business stakeholders, clients, and teams
• 4+ years of accounting experience
