This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off or three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

Install new electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls in an existing brown field petrochemical environment.

Essential Job Functions:
• Assists Electrical Journeyman in setup and performance of job tasks.
• Assist Journeyman with maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial environment through the proper use of standard wire, conduit, cable tray, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
• Assist Journeyman while learning to bend, cut, thread and install conduit.
• Assist in pulling MC-HL cable and installation.
• Help Journeyman install and terminate wiring.
• Learn applicable NEC codes that pertain to the all installations performed.
• Responsible for use and care for the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as hydraulic/electric benders, knockout punch sets, cable puller, meggers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters, multi-testers and amp-meters and other electrical parts.
• Assist other crafts with general labor work.
• Participate in daily and weekly Toolbox meeting.
• Must be able to follow all company, client, safety and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
• Have adequate written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization.
• Complete all ABC apprentice testing requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Possesses current knowledge of Journeyman Electrician, have physical fitness card and an understanding of organizational practices.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries and lighting systems.
• Possess an excellent knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Adequate written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in NFPA70E.

• Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
• Must stand throughout evaluation.
• Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3 Minute step test.
• Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.
• Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
• Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
• Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
• Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
• Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
• Kneel 60 seconds, stand, kneel 60 seconds, stand.
• Squat 60 seconds.

• Candidate required to be enrolled in ABC Apprenticeship program in order to be considered for the apprentice position.
• Current and valid Alaska State Fitness Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver's license including ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
• North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Electrical experience or an Associate's degree with electrical experience.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year in the area of industrial or petrochemical work.
• A minimum of 2,000 hours of documented electrical experience.
• North Slope experience with demonstrated knowledge of facilities, safety processes and maintenance procedures
