Job Description

We are looking for a creative pastry chef to be responsible for crafting delicious desserts and confectionery, designing seasonal menus, and developing new recipes for our bakery shop. You should be passionate about baking and be inspired to create masterpieces that go beyond our customers expectations.

To be successful in this role you must be well-versed in the culinary arts and adhere to strict standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Key Roles & Responsibilities;
• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
• Bake mixed doughs and batters
• Decorate cakes, pastries and other baked goods, including custom-made decorations for birthdays, weddings and other celebrations.
• Adjust the amount of ingredients, the oven temperatures, conveyor speeds and humidity as needed so that all products come out as expected.
• Ensure quality of products meets established standards
• Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce
• Coordinate deliveries to the bakery and necessary ingredients to ensure a fully stocked kitchen to reduce any downtime during the day.
• Perform routine checks on raw materials to ensure they adhere to high-quality standards and are not expired or damaged.
• Inspect baked goods to ensure they are of the highest quality, and remove any damaged items before they reach the display case.
• May oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods and advise on baking schedule
• Liaise with the owner

Required skills:
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a pastry chef
• Must have a passport
• Strong communication skills
• Passionate
• Great attention to detail
• Creative
• Develop new recipes or adjust existing recipes
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitation
• Excellent organization and leadership skills
• Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
• In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
