HVAC Install Startup, Commissioning & Warranty Technician

Pay: $40 - $45/hr

The Install Startup, Commissioning & Warranty Technician is responsible for delivering effective and efficient heating and cooling services to our valued customers. They will perform system install startups, commissioning of recently installed systems, and warranty work surrounding recent installs. They will stay well-informed of new techniques and technologies, to provide cutting edge service to our customers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serves as the subject matter expert on heating, air conditioning, and hydronic system installations to follow behind the installation team performing quality assurance checks.
• Perform system startups and commissioning efforts, ensuring that the client's needs are met, and the systems are installed, tested and functioning as designed.
• Works with the installation manager and install foremen to ensure that the finished install products are exceptional and meeting all code requirements.
• Works with the installation manager and install foremen to set standards for system type installs to maintain consistency of finished product across the board.
• Performs return visits for install call backs and warranty work for installations of HVAC & Plumbing systems.
• Helps to participate with content and feedback at the install meetings to provide lessons learned, findings from callbacks, identifying issues and help to correct actions and procedures.
• Performs walkthrough of every system installed by the installation team either on last day of install or following days post install.
• Perform walkthroughs with customer to ensure all documentation & paperwork is dispersed and system use knowledge is disseminated. This role should be customer service focused.
• Serves as a teacher and leads by example to apprentices on the job site.
• Stands inspections as required and works with the AHJ as needed.
• Assist with active installs as required or determined by the Installation Manager depending on seasonality, schedules and needs of the team.
• Attends group meetings and training, as needed. Participates in monthly and special company meetings, as appropriate.
• Uses good judgment and self-control in areas wherein the company entrusts him/her to maintain company and customer confidentiality.
• Establish a sound positive work relationship with all members of the Boston Standard team. Must be able to listen and implement all suggested feedback received.

Required Skills and Abilities:
• Prior heating and/or cooling experience in a residential capacity.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate with customers.
• Demonstrated excellent communication conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and pitch in as needed.
• Computer skills and use of electronic devices for scheduling, invoice creation and communication to staff and customers required.
• Must be able to work on a ladder.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Education and Experience:
• High School diplomaor GED
• Minimum of three years field experience and formal training, as well as EPA certification.
• Current and unrestricted driver's license.
• Professional set of tools.
• Physical ability to perform all requirements associated with this position
