Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation – is an independent, non-profit foundation based in Zürich. It was founded in 1959 by leading figures from the Swiss private sector and Swiss universities and has been present throughout South-East Asia for more than 30 years. It is exclusively involved in international development and is active in more than 33 countries with 110 programmes and has over 1,000 members of staff. The private sector is at the heart of all of Swisscontact’s work and plays a crucial role in achieving more inclusive economic growth. It does this through four thematic areas; a) Skills Development, b) Enterprise Promotion, c) Inclusive Finance, and d) Climate Smart Economy
Objective of the function
To proactively facilitate the implementation of component 2 activities in accordance with the programme document and the annual work plan, developed in cooperation with MVTTC, on the development of a self-study modular teacher training course.

Main Tasks
To proactively facilitate the implementation of component 2 activities in accordance with the programme document and the annual work plan, developed in cooperation with MVTTC, on the development of a self-study modular teacher training course.
Detail Tasks
• Take the lead for implementing component 2 by working closely with MVTTC and the team leader.
• Cooperate with MVTTC staff on the implementation of the work plan.
• Liaise with the relevant staff at VETA Head Office.
• Develop and closely follow the progress of the module working groups developing the training modules.
• Ensure that a gender agenda underpins the development of the modules.
• Maintain close contact with FDCs (management and teachers).
• Plan and implement pilot training activities.
• Develop ToRs and supervise sub-contractors.
• Compile and disseminate assessment results.
• Responsible for compiling data for Monitoring and Results Measurement (MRM.

Qualifications & experience
• A minimum of a bachelor’s or higher degree in programme/project management, education, adult learning, vocational education, vocational teacher training or equivalent;
• A minimum of seven years’ work experience in development initiatives related to skills development/vocational education and training, and curriculum development at NVA/NTA-level;
• Working experience from the TVET in Tanzania;
• Experience working in:
• Cross-functional teams;
• Facilitating curriculum or course development activities involving a multitude of stakeholders;
• Developing and implementing complex project activities;
• Apply a gender agenda at implementation level.
• The ability to write clear and concise reports;
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of written and spoken English and Swahili.
