REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage all close and reporting requirements related to inventory, specifically cost accounting, monthly inventory on-hand, and valuation reporting. Will include coordination of year-end physical inventory counts across distribution centers, warehouses, and retail stores
• Act as a change agent, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and to enhance controls, specifically as it relates to inventory management and related processes
• Collaborate with members of key functions (including Controlling, Marketing, Merchandising, and IT teams) across all business channels to accurately prepare monthly financial information and analysis, improve cross-organizational communication and processes and drive efficiencies through systems leverage.
• Oversee month-end closing, journal entry preparation, and related fluctuation analysis, culminating in the final preparation of the monthly internal financial package.
• Manage and review account reconciliations, ensuring the resolution of all reconciling items promptly and meeting all deadlines.
• Assist with year-end financial audits, specifically overall inventory accounting, reporting, and controls.
• Ensure that organizational policies and procedures are followed and result in adequate internal controls.
• Significant participation in external audits, including preparation of audit working papers. Coordinate and manage information flow between accountants and external auditors, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Provide input on best-in-class processes to ensure high internal controls, streamlined reporting, and efficient close procedures.
• Train, develop, and mentor staff as needed
• Other ad hoc projects, as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:
• BA degree
• Minimum 5-7 years of Accounting experience; luxury a plus
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Maintains the highest standards of accuracy and precision
• Collaborative team player
• Develops professional rapport internally and externally; cultivates the team.
• Driven and self-motivated; a self-starter
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
