Seeking an Interim Principal/Administrator with a heart for Christian education! CCIS is now recruiting its new head of school for 12 months from preferably May, latest August 2023. The Principal/Administrator position works as the head of school in all academic and most managerial matters.
The ideal candidate brings the adaptability, leadership, and administrative skills needed to guide the student, teacher and parent community of a Christian international school with the support of the deputy principal.
A spiritual journey and personal adventure await. This quaint primary school campus is located between the foothills of majestic Mount Meru and the bustling town of Arusha, the gateway to several of Tanzania’s wildlife parks and Mount Kilimanjaro.
We are seeking an experienced Interim Principal/Administrator to:
1. Supervise the day to day running of the school including: morning assembly, timetabling, supervising schedules, staff meetings, student/staff devotion, office administration
2. Take responsibility for the supervision and management of academic staff and support staff in meeting their personal professional development goals in support with deputy principal
3. Plan & manage school/community events with the support of deputy principal
4. Collaborate with school deputy principal to ensure provision of high-quality academic and extracurricular programmes according to CCIS guidelines
5. Raise the visibility of the school by developing and carrying out an effective marketing and communications plan
6. Explore additional sources of income and fund raising for the school in cooperation with the director and deputy school principal
7. Communicate with CCIS parents and broader community, liaising with missionaries, churches and schools both in Arusha and abroad
Qualifications:
ü Servant heart, an attitude of grace, committed to supporting a loving school culture
ü Master’s degree in Education Administration, Public Administration, International Development/Policy, Business, Master’s degree in Education or related field
ü Commitment to building and supporting a multicultural community
ü Flexible and adaptable to meeting school’s needs
ü 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a relevant role
ü Management and supervisory experience required; ability to manage strategic operations and influence direction
ü Energized by the prospect of managing projects and initiatives
ü Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
ü International experience required, especially in developing and/or African country.
ü Verbal and written communication skills within a multicultural, international workforce
