Primary Purpose

Under limited direction, this position leads the marketing for Vitalant Health, which encompasses all revenue-generating and scientific endeavors, including blood products, laboratory services, Vitalant Research Institute, Vitalant Innovation Center and related lines of business. The position has a dotted line relationship to the Vitalant Health senior executive, and works in coordination with other marketing and communications leaders, including communications, marketing operations and targeted marketing and digital marketing to develop business processes and implement marketing. The position is accountable for overall revenue and customer service for Vitalant Health, working in partnership with those operational and sales team members.

Duties And Responsibilities

Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.

Assures quality customer service to all customers.

Provides effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results, and other criteria in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives.

Hires, supervises, mentors, trains, develops, and evaluates performance of assigned staff. Identifies and effectively resolves employee issues.

Implements Vitalant’s marketing strategy to support and contribute to the organization’s strategic imperatives and business objectives related to Vitalant Health partners and scientific endeavors.

Supports the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans, which includes supporting business, budget, and financial plans.

Supports plan development and implementation, in coordination with other marketing, sales and operations team members, to inspire partners to select Vitalant for products and services, and to broadcast Vitalant’s expertise, particularly regarding research and innovation.

Ensures quality systems comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory, industry, and Vitalant standards.

Participates in the annual budget preparation, ensuring adherence to approved department budget.

Oversees overall marketing copy, for multiple channels, for Vitalant Health, working in coordination with other marketing and communications team members.

Undertakes detailed ongoing analysis of marketing campaigns and other efforts to ensure targets are met.

Works collaboratively with other areas, such as digital, marketing operations and communications.

Establishes and maintains scalable processes.

Creates and maintain metrics reports on marketing activities and effectiveness and business impact.

Proactively explores data to find trends, discover KPIs, and apply proper hypothesis. testing. Monitors campaigns to optimize performance based on industry best practices.

Develops robust KPIs and scorecards for marketing performance monitoring.

Presents analysis and findings to a variety of audiences.

Remains abreast of changes and developments in the blood services industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships.

Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge/Education

Bachelor's degree required.

MBA, Master of Science or other relevant advanced degree preferred.

Knowledge of large system operations management required.

Licenses/Certifications

None

Experience

Eight years of related experience required. To include:
• Three years marketing management experience.

Skills/Abilities

Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.

Must have experience with business-to-business marketing in the areas of healthcare, medical devices, laboratory services, pharmaceuticals, biotech or research services.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem-solving skills.

Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.

Effective oral and written business communication skills.

Must have a participative management style, strong team development, coaching skills, and the ability to lead and motivate senior and executive-level managers.

Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.

Must have proficient computer skills.

Ability to travel (25+%).
