Background
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL), the largest producer of sugar in the country operating cohesively with Illovo Distillers Tanzania Limited (IDTL) and a member of Illovo Sugar Africa Limited (Africa’s largest sugar producer). The Company now invites applicants who are self-motivated, honest, hardworking and committed individuals to fill above mentioned position at Kilombero.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will support the Factory Execution Lead to ensure quality approved for construction drawings are in place and have been reviewed by the employer. Promote a culture of consistently assessing project engineering compliance and progress together with identifications of prevailing or potential risks and provide recommended mitigation actions to the Factory Execution Lead.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop a working relationship with the EPC Contractor to be able to develop an opinion of quality of site work
• Ensure no basis for an Extension of Time or Variation in cost claim by the EPC Contractor as a consequence engagement processes and decisions.
• Ensure internationally accepted quality and procedures for construction for the above are met as laid out in the Employers Requirements in the Contract and are in accordance with internationally accepted standards.
• Track and monitor all Witness and Hold point activities identified in conjunction with the Project Execution Head and ensure appropriate resources are timeously engaged and mobilized,
• Access and confirm concrete strength test results and advise Project Execution Manager on any non-conformances and corrective steps to be taken.
• Ensure building constructions are of a quality acceptable to the Employer in accordance with the Employers Requirements. Specific notice taken of rain run-off, storm water systems and effluent
• Ensure construction of waste water, effluent and sewerage systems are constructed in a manner ensuring long term functionality.
• Ensure the construction of the Bulk Storage and Finished Goods Warehouse are executed in accordance with the OEM standards, are watertight and are safely constructed.
• All activities at height are in accordance with Safety requirements of the Employers SHERQ standards and regulations.
• Understand the resourcing in terms of plant and resources with the Specialist Services department and predict outcome in accordance to schedule and quality assurance.
Job Qualification And Experience:
• 10+ years experience in mass concrete/ piling / building and major structure constructions
• Large scale EPC project management and implementation experience
• Ability to interpret Execution Schedule and commensurate plant and personnel requirements
• Ability to work in culturally diverse environment
Terms Of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Fixed Term Contract.
