Introduction

Our Client who is a well-known is a distributor of premium brands in South Africa is looking for an experience Regional Sales Manager for their JHB South, East, JHB CBD, Midrand & Part Limpopo region.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Sales Volumes and Market Share

Ensure sales team reach monthly, quarterly and annual targets

Identify opportunities to increase sales and volumes

Ensure sales team achieve regional market-share and availability targets

Key Accounts: Ensure correct implementation of key accounts’ strategy

Ensure that the business achieves key account targets & ensuring good working relationships with key account clients while conduct monthly key account reviews

Conduct and manage rebate negotiations and ensure timely payment of performance rebates

Management of Sales Drivers:

Ensure that the national promotions plan is effectively implemented in the Off Con Market

Design and implement innovative regional promotions and provide valuable feedback on promotions undertaken

Ensure that Marketing receives accurate and insightful feedback on promotions within required timeframes

Manage company assets to ensure best value-added outcome for the business

Ensure pricing, distribution and forward share objectives are met

Financial Control and Credit:

Ensure the Regional Depot stock requirements are managed efficiently Manage Rebate and Cycle Deal expense accounts as per agreed standards

Manage Non Key Account Discount Budget as per agreed standards

Manage promotion activation and stock budget as per agreed standards

Ensure the credit policy is communicated to and understood by all customers

Promote good teamwork between Credit Controllers and Sales Reps

Communicate all credit risks and irregularities

Ensure POD’s and credit notes are returned timeously

Manage sales team’s use of petrol cards, credit cards, vehicles, entertainment allowances and cell phones

Compile and submit a monthly vehicle condition report on sales team vehicles

People Management and Personal Development:

Lead and mentor staff and together with each staff member, develop development plans and identify training needs

Monitor team dynamics and take action to ensure good working relationships

Ensure staff are aware of and understand company’s mission statement, goals and strategic priorities

Organise team building and goal setting sessions

Ensure that staff adhere to the company’s code of conduct

Requirements and Qualifications:

3 Year Tertiary Education (Beneficial)

3-Years Relevant experience – NB experience within FMCG / liquor industry experience will be preferable.

People management experience would be beneficial

Product, service knowledge and understanding of category management

Knowledge of marketing and accounting principles

Computer literate

Ability to conceptualise and negotiate

Customer orientation

Sound interpersonal skills and creativity (big picture thinking)

Team player and ability to work independently using initiative

Endurance and ability to tolerate extended hours

Desired Experience & Qualification

Matric, plus completed tertiary, preferably in Marketing

Atleast 5 years' experience in similar position.
