Responsible for providing insurance verification functions for all assigned patient types, through contact with insurance companies, employers, or by use of electronic systems. Maintains/updates current patient insurance information in patient's record. Update current employer and insurance master records. Assists registration areas with correct and complete assignment of insurance information Completes insurance verification in accordance with predetermined departmental guidelines and established insurance company guidelines and regulations.

Employment Requirements:

Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
Licensure & Certification:
• 3-5 experience in insurance, physician coding and billing required, preferably in a medical office setting.
• 5 years experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification preferred
