Introduction
Our client is a multinational leader in the automation sector, and they are urgently looking for an experienced Field Service Technician / Engineer to join their team in the North Cape (Kathu/ Postmasburg). The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4-years’ experience in a heavy engineering / mining / manufacturing / automation sector.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide technical support.
• Participate in delivering After-Hours Breakdown Support.
• Do complex fault-finding and report findings and deviations (SQL/HMI)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• PLC programming (Rockwell & Rack).
• Calibrate an analog device in the field through the PLC (Scaling).
• Maintain tools and test equipment properly.
Desired Experience & Qualification
• * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Engineering Diploma / equivalent combination of relevant education.
• Qualified Instrumentation trade (Electrician)
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in heavy engineering / mining manufacturing / automation sector
• Experience involving AC or DC drives & PLC’s
• Knowledge of the following programable devices: Allan Bradley, ABB and Siemens
• High-level understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, Canbus, Ethernet, etc.
Package & Remuneration
Basic: R 50 000pm – R 75 000pm +
