The ideal candidate will be a highly technical and experienced Electrical Engineer with at least 6 years of practical experience working on construction sites. You need to have a degree in electrical engineering and be a registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng). If you have experience in managing a team of technicians, and you have a track record of successfully delivering projects, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! This role is ideal for an analytically minded individual that is expertly skilled in the design and implementation of MV and LV substations.
As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of all electrical systems within projects. You will use your expert project management skills to develop project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager and ensure that the project reaches successful completion. You will carry out all estimations and ensure that the required resources and equipment are promptly acquired. You will also engage with clients and be responsible for communicating all project changes and updates when necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include providing short-term project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager, revising project plans and ensuring that they are kept up to date, documenting the project program and thereafter monitoring its progress against the program, and advising the project manager of any variations or delays that occur. The Electrical Engineer will ensure that all instructions or details of work made available by the client are incorporated into the project program and made available to the construction personnel. The Electrical Engineer will ensure that all resources needed on-site for estimations are procured and that the estimations are carried out correctly, that all systems are set up and follow the applicable procedures and standards for compliance, and that all technical services on-site are provided efficiently. The Electrical Engineer will also liaise with clients and be responsible for the completion of all work necessary to honor contractual obligations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Must be a registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) at ECSA
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• At least 6 years of practical site experience working as an electrical engineer on construction sites (industrial, mining, and commercial)
• MV and LV experience is essential for this role
• Experience in managing and supervising construction sites and leading a team of technicians
• Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successful project delivery
• Expert design capabilities with a demonstrated ability to understand and implement detailed designs
• Capable of writing technical proposals and documents when required
• Sound knowledge of electrical engineering standards and specifications

• Proficient in MS Office Packages
• Strong leader with excellent team management capabilities
• Client-focused attitude with outstanding interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organisational and systematic work ethic
Package & Remuneration
R1M - R1,3M CTC per annum
