My client, a provider of high quality pest and disease diagnostic services is seeking a Diagnostician to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
• The candidate should have an agricultural tertiary qualification in plant pathology or nematology (minimum MSc degree) with relevant experience in plant pest and disease diagnostics.
• The candidate should also have a good inter-personal profile, be fluent in Afrikaans and English, be well organized and be competent in Microsoft Office and statistical software and have a driver’s licence.
Experience in the following skills is required:
• Molecular pest and pathogen diagnostic techniques
• Application of traditional plant pathology techniques for the identification of plant pathogens
• Identification of oomycete pathogens
• Counting and identification of plant parasitic nematodes, specifically the citrus nematode
