Who are we?

Sanlam Developing Markets Limited (SDM) (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the Sanlam Sky sub-cluster which is part of the Sanlam Personal Finance cluster within the Sanlam Group. There are three businesses within the Sanlam Sky sub-cluster, namely; Group Benefits, Individual Life, Safrican Insurance.

Duties & Responsibilities
• To provide financial advice along with a financial plan in line with the customer value proposition and treating customers fairly framework.
• To work in allocated key accounts and allocated markets.
• To offer customer service to Sanlam clients.
• To arrange appointments with potential customers within Key Accounts and Allocated Markets.
• To update and inform customers and client public of our new products.
• Develop, plan, and continuously adjust sales tactics to achieve monthly targets (maintain the ‘law of average’ during the sales process by balancing prospects and sales attempts with the number of appointments).
• Responsible for reporting on activities daily, through using relevant technology platforms.
• Collate data on activities to deliver on weekly and monthly reporting deadlines. Work with Sales Manager to identify priority areas and to plan monthly activities accordingly.​​​​​​​

Desired Experience & Qualification
• Matric (Grade 12)
• FAIS compliance (advantageous)
• Class of Business (COB) Tier 1 (advantageous)
• RE 5 qualification is advantageous

Knowledge and Experience
• Minimum of 12 months industry experience within sales or marketing.
• Proven experience in customer
