HR Officer HR

Durban - KwaZulu Natal

Our client, a listed and leading plastics manufacturer based in Durban, serving customers and markets in South Africa, Africa and beyond, is looking for an HR Officer to join their team.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management

Minimum Experience
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing & unionised environment as an HR Generalist

Minimum Critical Requirements
• Must have good Interpersonal Effectiveness
• Solid knowledge of the South African Labour Relations and legislation
• Exposure in handling labour disputes

Main Responsibilities
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective stakeholder relations.
• Coordinate and compile monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting aligned to strategic metrics including trend analysis and recommendations from the HR Leader.
• Assist with sick leave management through reported and tracking.
• Coordinate incapacity process emanating from the Medical Review Board meetings and reports with the clinic
• Coordinate internal disciplinary hearings
• Assist the HR Leader on employee relation matters up to CCMA/Bargaining Council when applicable and in line with company policies.
• Attend all relevant site meetings.
• Serve as translator/scribe in HR meetings where necessary.
• Coordinate and schedule Union meetings with HR Manager on a monthly basis
• Assists in all recruitment, screening, selection and placement activities.
• Coordinate on-boarding activities.
• Assist with HR induction of new employees when necessary.
• Work with the HR team with all HR Projects, initiatives and ad-hoc tasks. Provide data for BBBEE scorecards and assist in collation for the audits.
• Assist in the preparation of Employment Equity information including reports and other related administrative duties.
• Act as back-up for HR Administrative Specialist and HR Manager when needed.
• Taking Minutes and assist in audits
• Assist Leader in co ordinating EAP & Community Outreach activities
• Coordinates the implementation in all Organisational Development Activities with the HR Team.
