My client, a rubber manufacturer in Howick, is recruiting a Production Manager to join their team. minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in the manufacturing sector is essential. This must be supported by a relevant qualification.
Minimum requirement
• Grade 12
• Qualification in Industrial Engineering, Production Management or Business Management would be considered.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
• Management experience is essential.
• Rubber manufacturing experience would be advantages.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Lead and coach the factory management team and employees.
• Ensure a safe working environment.
• Deliver quality products to spec and on time.
• Physical overview and supervision of production on the shop floor.
• Ensure that products are produced in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
• Production planning including stock controlling and transport management.
• Management of budgets investment planning and cost control within your department.
• Monitoring and replenishing all raw materials and compounds within the department.
• Implement best practices to achieve improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
• Produce and ship on time while maintaining high-quality products.
• Inventory management of raw material and finished goods stock in departments.
• Possess strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Skilled in managing multiple priorities and consistently meeting deadlines.
• The manager has complete P and L responsibility for department.
• Supervise the product release process to ensure that only passed products are dispatched.
• Ensure that all production equipment and infrastructure needed for production are used according to work instructions and that maintenance is carried out on them timeously.
