Purpose of the Role
• Support the Head of Collections in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the group collections strategy.
• Ensure our collections book is safe.
• Bring insights and analysis of historic performance with the purpose of maximizing future performance and revenue.
• Provide a cover/leadership role for the Head of Collections

Key Responsibilities / Key Performance Areas
• Support the Head of Collections by leading the Collections Operations function.
• Monitoring, design and implementation of relevant dashboards / controls to ensure we keep our book safe i.e. Our Send to Bank book is:
• Right price
• Right date
• Right collection rail
• Right tracking days
• And
• All active policies are sent to bank.
• All decayed policies are not sent to bank.
• There are no double debits in a payment cycle.
• Generating of reports, analysis of outcomes and providing value adding/risk mitigating recommendations
• Deep diving and analysis of collections information
• Preparation of business cases
• Support collections strategy (short, medium and long term).
• Analyse collection strategy rules
• Refine and improve the operations of the collections strategy/rules.
• Goal: maximize Success Rate and the bottom-line net profit
• Provide insights around the quality of the Book with regards to the collection’s strategy
• Deal with external service providers and influence decision making regarding the collection’s strategy.
• Influence into multiple internal departments regarding decisions/proposals on the Collections strategy

Knowledge and Experience:

· Specialist knowledge of Debi Check is essential

· Prior experience in a TPPP/SO is desirable

· Relevant tertiary education

· Minimum 10 years working experience of which 3 must be in a leadership role

• Commercial acumen
• Critical thinking
• Ability to implement solutions (Project management)
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Excel
• SQL is advantageous

Personal Characteristics:
• Self-starter
• Willing to be hands on when required.
• Willing to ask questions, challenge the status quo and accept feedback
