Introduction
Salary: R34 000 – R40 000 Gross pm (Plus Pension, Medical and 13th Cheque)
Minimum Requirements:
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
• Clinical knowledge of the Maternity Ward essential
• Qualification in Advanced Midwifery will be beneficial
• Minimum 2-3 years management or supervisory experience in Maternity Ward will be advantageous
• Advanced Computer Literacy
• Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation

• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
• In conjunction with the Unit manager be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of theatre teams, effectively motivating, and directing staff to ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork
• To deputise for the Unit manager when necessary
• Assist the Unit Manager in the management of staff within their Unit including specific induction, recruitment and selection, training, performance management, sickness/ absence and appraisals.
• Ensure that continuous training takes place in the Maternity Ward
