An industry-leading mining company situated in the Northern Cape is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Category Specialist to join their team.
The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:
Procurement:
• Setting and implementation of category strategy
• Develop effective solutions and methodologies
• Provide category and process expertise to create and execute sourcing strategies
• Lead supplier management for defined categories
• Resolve any integration issues and gaps
• Conduct a strategic review of Procurement, local sourcing operations and opportunities
• Review all stages of the procurement process
• Support Supplier Management process
• Deliver value and cost-benefit target
• Procure-to-Pay Processes
Monitoring and Reporting:
• Develop Procurement Category Strategies
• Compile and report on Percentage Spending on approved category plans and contracts
• Total cost of ownership and life-cycle cost savings delivered
• Sustainability benefits delivered effectively
• Percentage of Orders delivered
• Spend with diverse suppliers’ information
• On-time contract review processing
• Supplier Performance Cycle Times
Knowledge / Competencies /Abilities:
• Fully bilingual and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• PC proficiency including Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• The ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines
• Understanding Company strategies
• Understanding Business Needs
• Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Industry and Market Knowledge
• Continuous improvement across the supply chain
• Knowledge of relevant mining laws, regulations, and ISO req.
Requirements
Key requirements:
• National Senior Certificate
• Driver’s License
• Relevant Qualification in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
• Between 8 to 10 years of applicable experience in the mining sector
• Excellent knowledge of Mining industry practices
