More About This Ozow Fantastic Position

As the Head of Country at Ozow, you are to lead and control all business aspects of the company within the West African region. You will be the first in command and responsible for giving the strategic direction as well as creating a vision for success. 

You will take actions to enhance the company's position in the region as Ozow looks to firmly create a footprint and grow to be a market leader. Your primary goal is to drive the company's development and guide it towards short- and long-term success. 

You are an ideal candidate if you have:
• Tertiary qualifications in business or equivalent.
• 5+ years running operations within the Fintech, or related An understanding of payments and the technical landscape will be a major benefit given this individual will be expected to give direction on the product.
• 10+ years of business development and leading a high-performance team of executive level manage
• Strong business acumen with a commercial mindset. The Head of Country will be responsible for meeting revenue targets.
• Been a part of a management team that has impacted a company and seen it grow from infancy to becoming a market leader.
• Knowledge of the West African region.
• Have an understanding of the target market along with media landscape when considering marketing and the various channels used, which will drive usage.
• Strong influencer, with existing networks in key targeted partners.
• A target driven individual that thrives in a demanding, fast paced environment, and has the ability to motivate those around them.

Your roles and responsibilities:
• Foster good relationships with government and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, specifically within the payments industry. Given this is an ever-changing landscape, the individual will be required to keep abreast of these changes, and adapt strategy/business models accordingly.
• Plan and implement long term business goals and policies in country that align with head office. Ability to adapt from a South African context into West Africa and ensure market penetration.
• Gather information on market trends and competitor activities in order to drive strategic decision making.
• Ensuring the Ozow brand is visible to the relevant market players and future customers.
• Partner and coordinate with third parties to ensure alignment with Ozow goals and objectives – continuously improve ROI.
• Recruit key talent in order to reach aggressive expansion goals. Along with recruitment, it will be the responsibility of the Head of Country to build a culture that not only delivers performance but attracts and retains talent.
• Provide leadership in alignment with company values.
• Track data throughout the financial year in order to present back key analysis to South African Management and Board Members. This includes but is not limited to operational, commercial, technical, financial and legal risk.
• Engage with relevant insurance providers to ensure that the company is covered from all forms of risk.
