We have one exciting new opportunity for a AC Crew Wireman available.
The successful candidate will report directly to the AC Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12
• Qualified, Trade Tested (Red Seal) technician;
• Wireman’s license – 3ph
• Valid driver’s licence
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Office 365
• Basic Excel
• Basic Word
• Good Knowledge of Electrical Metering installations
• Good Knowledge of Utility Electrical reticulations
• Ability to Identify problems
• Must be able to communicate very well: written and verbal
• Report writing skills
• Able to work on large and multi-complex projects
• Be process driven and a team player with excellent communication skills;
• Technical experience in site investigations and meter installations
• Trouble shooting data comms for metering
• Water meter reading experience
• A team player
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• At least 2 years commercial Smart Metering experience
• Must be able and willing to travel across South Africa
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Installation of electricity Smart Metering instruments, within a Utilities Management role as well as Non-Utilities, Single bulk check metering installations
• A knowledge of the common industry metering instruments as well as the common procurement thereof duties and responsibilities
• To aid in reviewing of work orders and procurement process, to verify specifications of wire sizes, metering equipment and communications equipment needed in order to implement the most accurate, cost effective and reliable solution
• To allocate all necessary bill of materials for all metering projects and to manage all metering equipment and materials via the Terra Firma stock management system. Weekly stock counts are to be conducted and results of count sent to Project Manager so sufficient stock levels may be maintained
• To aid in the assembly of smart metering panels required for all metering installations. Continuously look at innovative ways to improve on panel design and implement cost effective ways of assembling panels
• All panels to be built to the SANS101.42-1 standard
• To implement the accurate installation of electricity smart metering equipment in order to conduct effective and accurate electricity management and measurement
• To be able to follow strict processes and completion of mandatory checklists and signoff documentation, critical to quality control
• To conduct metering and instrument verifications in order to troubleshoot experienced anomalies in sub billing or energy management, as well as implementing ad hoc metering fixes, with the goal of always ensuring the most accurate information is being made available to end users
• To compile all health and safety documentation for all projects and submit for approval and sign-off to Project Manager, before commencement of any electrical work
• The candidate must be able to travel across South Africa, as well as work out of normal office hours
• Thorough Knowledge of Safety Standards, LOTTO and HIRA in essential
