Introduction
A position has become available for a Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team, based in Kommetjie, Western Cape.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible to perform daily maintenance routine duties and corrective maintenance on production and auxiliary machinery.
• Timeously report any breakages, damages to the Senior Fitter or Maintenance Manager.
• Complete daily logbook and all required documentation timeously and accurately.
• Problem solving and fault finding.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance in a timely manner with no risk to food safety or production.
• Stock control of consumables and equipment.
• Ensure health and safety, housekeeping and hygiene practices are always maintained.
• Live by the In2food Values and Leadership characteristics always.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational requirements
• Matric or NQF 4 qualification
• Red seal qualification – Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate
• Theoretical and practical in Mechanical Fitting (N3-N4)
Skills & Experience required
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Fitter
• Knowledge and experience in FMCG industry
• Welding experience (ARC, MIG and TIG) advantageous
• Good understanding of pneumatics advantageous
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery and equipment with demonstrated record of delivery
• Excellent abilities to complete root cause and failure analysis is imperative for the job
• Excellent knowledge of routine planned and preventative maintenance
• Able to provide expert advice and problem-solving techniques to fellow colleagues
• Leadership abilities and people driven
