Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) is a Zambian incorporated power generation, transmission, distribution and supply company. The privately owned power utility is a member of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) and a pioneering international power trader in Southern Africa. CEC is publicly traded on the Lusaka Securities Exchange with more than 5,000 institutional and retail investors. The Company’s operations are dotted around the Copperbelt Province of Zambia and the Katanga region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We currently have the following career opportunities:

1. Safety Coordinator (01)

This role is responsible for providing inspection and advisory service on all aspects of occupational health and safety in order to effectively promote safe working conditions around workplaces at CEC.

2. Energy Planner (01)

The role is responsible for short and long range customer demand forecasting and development of befitting short and long range energy sourcing plans in respect of CEC’s power purchases to support the customer demand requirements. It plays a key role in forecasting of renewable energy from the CEC generation portfolio. This role works very closely with network expansion planning activities by providing demand trends and long term demand expectations. The role also actively participates in company marketing/customer liaison activities to ensure requirements of both existing and potential customers are addressed. The job holder is responsible for successful implementation of existing power supply agreements and power purchase agreement.

3. Energy Statistician (01)

The role is responsible for customer billing. It involves collection, analysing and processing of timely and accurate energy sales data for billing, informational and reporting purposes. This role is also responsible for preparing fit-for-purpose and user-friendly reports for energy supply-demand trend analysis that informs business decisions. The job holder will be responsible for managing the automated billing tool.

4. Engineer Business Development (01)

The job holder will be responsible for coordinating the onboarding of new customers to the CEC network, determine network requirements of future investments on the CEC network and other networks in the region and to assess and participate in developments taking place on the national and regional grid in order to foster and safeguard CEC’s business interests.

5. Engineer Network Development (01)

The job holder will be responsible for supporting new customers to the CEC network with a focus on technical aspects, determine network requirements of future investments on the CEC network and other networks in the region and to evaluate their impact on overall network performance with a view to achieving optimum technical solutions for meeting new demand.

6. Trade Advisor (01)

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the power market including market coupling and technological development of the market platform and its products and services; forecasting. planning and advising power traders; and planning and arranging for wheeling path in the interconnected system.
